Reflections Art Contest (Oct 1 - Nov 15)

All students in Kindergarten through 6th grade are encouraged to participate in the PTA's Reflections Art Contest. Reflections is a National PTA program that encourages students to reflect on a specific theme and create original artwork for fun and recognition. The theme for 2023-24 is "I am Hopeful Because..." - students will use this theme as inspiration for creative submissions in the following categories: 1) Visual Arts, 2) Photography, 3) Music Composition, and 4) Literature/Creative Writing.

The contest will open for submissions starting October 1st and all entries must be submitted by November 15th. For more information and contest details, please visit the Reflections page on the PTA website.

Lazy Dog Restaurant Week (Nov 6 - Nov 12)

15% of all sales generated from this event are donated back to the PTA to support CES.

Print the Lazy Dog flyer attached and give it to your server when you dine in at Lazy Dog between November 6th and November 12th, and 15% of your total bill will be donated back to the organization.

Ordering takeout? Just visit www.lazydogrestaurants.com, select the Chantilly location noted below, and enter the coupon code 39CEP.

Scholastic Book Fair (Dec 2 - Dec 7)

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming! Get a sneak peek at the digital flyer here. This is an annual fundraiser for the PTA, and a percentage of all the sales from this event will go back to the PTA.

Students will be able to shop the book fair during the school day in the CES Library and we will have family events outside of school hours. A full schedule of hours is below:

  • Sat, 12/2 - 9:00AM - 1:00PM

  • Mon, 12/4 - 10:30AM - 3:30PM and 4:30PM - 6:00PM

  • Tue, 12/5 - 10:30AM - 3:30PM

  • Wed, 12/6 - 10:30AM - 3:30PM

  • Thu, 12/7 - 10:30AM - 1:00PM

Parents can set up a secure eWallet account using the CES Book Fair homepage and add funds to it online. Students and cashiers will know how much money is available to spend at the book fair, so students don't have to worry about carrying around or counting cash. For obvious reasons, this is the preferred method of payment. We do, however, accept cash, credit cards (adults only), and checks (made out to CES PTA) for all purchases as well.

Books are also available for purchase online from Nov 29 through Dec 12.

Holiday Shop (Dec 2 - Dec 7)

From December 2nd through 7th (alongside the book fair), we will have the Polar Pals Gift Shop set up to give your children the opportunity to shop for high quality gifts for friends and family in the secure atmosphere of our school. The Polar Pals Gift Shop program provides our children with an opportunity to make real life shopping decisions - plus they learn that giving is as important as receiving.

Gift items are "kid-priced" and range from less than $1.00 to $15.00, with most in the $1.00 to $5.00 range.

It is our hope that, through this program, our children will learn about handling money and receive the joy of being able to select a special gift for a loved one.

Don't want to send your student to school with cash? Be safe and pre-purchase a gift card today!

  • Sat, 12/2: 9:00AM - 1:00PM

  • Mon, 12/4: 10:30AM - 3:30PM & 4:30PM - 6:00PM

  • Tue, 12/5: 10:30AM - 3:30PM

  • Wed, 12/6: 10:30AM - 3:30PM

  • Thu, 12/7: 10:30AM - 1:00PM

PTA Meeting & Cookie Exchange (Dec 4)

Join us in-person for our next PTA Meeting on Monday, December 4th from 6:00-7:00PM. We will be giving our usual updates and opening the floor for further discussions.

This meeting, we will also be hosting a COOKIE EXCHANGE. We encourage people to bring in a 24+ cookies to exchange for a sweet treat to bring home from the meeting!

An agenda (and reminder) will be sent out closer to the meeting date.

Family Magic Show (Dec 15)

Join us for a family-friendly night of magic, featuring Turley, the magician.

Children are the stars of Turley's shows as they make things appear and disappear. There's plenty of real magic, puppets, sound effects, and FREE prizes for children.
