Corporate Matching

Your employer might match your charitable contribution when you give it to a non-profit like the Centreville Elementary PTA.  This match can double or even triple your donation!  In addition, if you volunteer with us, your employer may also provide us with a grant as a way to recognize your ongoing support.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are corporate matching and employee matching gift programs?

Many companies match their employees' contributions to eligible non-profit organizations (U.S.-based 501(c)(3) organizations) through corporate giving programs.  Matching could instantly double the money you donate to the organization.

What are volunteer grant programs?

Volunteer grant programs are corporate giving programs in which companies provide monetary donations to organizations where employees volunteer regularly.

How do I request a matching gift or volunteer grant?

Requesting a matching gift or volunteer grant is usually a quick and easy process that the donor/volunteer must initiate.  You can do this through an electronic submission process or by filling out and submitting a paper match form provided by your employer.  Consult your HR or Benefits Department for your company's program details and instructions for "matching funds" for "501(c)(3)" charitable organizations.

Does corporate matching benefit my employer?

Definitely.  Corporations are happy to do match donations for two reasons: 1) they get tax deductions and 2) it allows them to be good corporate citizens.

When should I apply for corporate matching?

Apply as soon as you make your donations.  Some companies distribute corporate matching funds right away, while other process them once a quarter. Some companies have strict time constraints within which employees must submit corporate match applications.  If your company offers corporate matching, please apply for it right away.

Can I match my class fund contribution?

No, only donations to the Eagle Fund are eligible for donation matching
