Each program has 12 classes and will run from 4:00 - 5:00pm after school, unless otherwise noted.​​
​Limited financial aid opportunities are available for those who qualify. Each program has different eligibility requirements. Please contact the program coordinator to inquire when you register. ​​

Class Descriptions
THEATRE
Grades: 1st-6th
Day: Tuesdays
Time: 4:00-5:00pm

Each theatre class will consist of theatre games, acting terminology, performance etiquette, and scene work. We will provide a safe and nurturing environment employing positive feedback which allows your children to learn and have fun! This class will encourage your child to act silly and express themselves while learning how to respect others, develop their imagination, and increase their confidence.
ARTISTIC & CARTOON
DRAWING
Grades: K-6th
Day: Tuesdays

The Artistic and the Cartooning Drawing class combines the Artistic and Cartooning curriculums to encourage your child’s enthusiasm for art with a great sense of humor. The Artistic curriculum uses a structured stepwise format to teach elementary students useful drawing skills, focusing on artistic expression. The Cartooning curriculum breaks down objects and ideas into simple shapes, then use exaggeration, caricature, and personification to playfully construct the animated characters in humorous settings. Our drawing curriculums are designed to encourage our students with creativity, imagination, and confidence. It also develops academically relevant skills, including, spatial-motor planning, mental discipline and fine motor skills, while providing a fun, enriching experience for our students.
INTRO TO PYTHON
Grades: 4th-6th
Day: Tuesdays

In this program, students will take their first steps into text-based programming using Python. They will learn fundamental coding concepts such as variables, loops, conditionals, and functions through interactive lessons and hands-on projects.
By the end of the course, students will have built small programs and games, helping them develop problem-solving skills and a strong foundation in coding. No prior experience with Python is required—just curiosity and a willingness to learn!
CHESS CLUB
Grades: K-6th
Day: Tuesdays

Learn chess with Silver Knights Chess Academy (formerly Magnus Academy)! We’ve taught 100,000 children to play including state & national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games. Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies. Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments outside of club time, which may have an additional fee. All chess supplies provided. We welcome all grades and skill levels!
HIP HOP DANCE
Grades: K-6th
Day: Thursdays

Hip Hop is for kids in grades K-5. This is a high-energy, exciting dance fitness class, but with an emphasis on hip hop music. Classes are set up with kid friendly music, movements, and routines. In addition to a dance work out, they will also play games such as partner dances, dancing hot potato, freeze dance, dancing 4 corners, hula hoop games, and many more. This class has kids working out without realizing it! Dance instructors are experienced dance fitness teachers and all instructors receive further training through Kids in Motion lead instructors.
POTTERY
Grades: K-6th

Students will hone their fine motor skills through hand building and glazing pottery while expressing their unique personal vision. The 3D medium will teach them to use problem solving skills to address form and structure. Mudskippers Pottery brings their convenient mobile studio to CES with all the advantages of a professional studio.
ELECTRONICS WITH
MINECRAFT REDSTONE
Grades: 1st-6th

STEM exCEL's Electronics with Minecraft Redstone allows students to explore electronics in a virtual world with essentially infinite resources. Using Minecraft's Redstone blocks, which act as wires on a breadboard, students can build constructs representing electrical circuits and simple computer projects that are built in the real world. This course is a great precursor to understand real circuitry, electronics and electrical theory. This course allows students to gain an understanding of how computers are processing commands as they move on to other computer science studies, and take home their Redstone creations at the end of the course.
DEBATE CLUB
Grades: 4th-6th

​Students learn how to create and backup arguments with evidence, think analytically, consider multiple perspectives, and develop research and speaking skills through drills, projects, and debate rounds. Odyssey Debate Academy adapts the standardized 2 vs 2 public forum style of debate to accommodate an elementary group. The reformatted style provides an effective pipeline for upper level debate and builds career-applicable skills.
