Committees
Volunteering as part of the PTA not only benefits the school, but it also benefits your child. When your child sees your involvement in the school, your child sees the importance you place in his/her education. It's wonderful to see the smiles on children's faces as they see family members volunteer in their classrooms, at the school, and during the many events the PTA hosts. Baking
Chair: Lisa Bertolino
Provides baked goods for all PTA events such as Movie Night, Bingo Night, Teachers’ luncheons, etc. If you enjoy baking, this is a great committee for you! Please contact the committee chairperson.
Grants
Chair: Susie Collier
If you have experience writing, reviewing, or evaluating grant applications, then this is the committee for you! We are looking for help in obtaining alternative sources of funding for the PTA through grant monies.
Grounds Beautification
Chairs: Dave Stewart and Maria Stewart
CES families and staff undertake modest landscaping projects to improve the appearance of our school grounds. Projects range from simple clean-ups to planting flowers and caring for existing plants and shrubs. Chairperson coordinates annual clean up days (late summer, l ate winter, and early spring). Lots of volunteers are needed to make our cleanup days a success. This is a great family-oriented community service opportunity!
Staff Appreciation
Chair: Stefanie Ragano
The Staff Appreciation Committee provides recognition throughout the school year for our wonderful CES staff as well as celebrates specific days to functions within the school (ie, Nurse’s Day). Some of the past recognition activities included Teacher Work Day breakfasts and supplies for the teachers' lounge. If you are interested in helping with this committee, please contact the committee chairpersons.
Teacher Appreciation Week
Chair: Farah Chohan
This committee coordinates the Teacher Appreciation Week activities, which includes a luncheon at a local restaurant for all of our educators. Lots of extra hands are needed to make this week special for our staff.
Yearbook
Chair: Sue Lyons
CES has contracted with Splendid Photography to put together a yearbook filled with photos of each CES student and their classrooms, as well as various activities throughout the school year. The success of the yearbook depends entirely on volunteers to take photos as well as design the yearbook pages. Yearbook pages are created digitally using Adobe Photoshop software. Volunteers will be instructed on how to use this software. It's fun and easy and produces beautiful, professional looking results. We are always in need photos of school events! Photos can be dropped off at the main office anytime during the school year or sent via email to the address above. So get those cameras rolling and remember to send us copies of your pictures.
