Walk to School Week
Chair: Terry Angelotti (neilter@verizon.net)
Centreville Elementary School participates in the International Walk to School Week. The purpose of Walk to School week is to give
a "pat on the back" to kids who already walk to school as well as to encourage kiss-n-ride students who live within walking distance
to walk?at least occasionally. With obesity rates skyrocketing and only one-quarter of Americans able to get the Surgeon General's
recommended daily dose of exercise (just 30 minutes), it's an ideal time to encourage children to walk to school for their own health
and well-being.

Each beautification project is chosen with an emphasis on simplicity, and low maintenance requirements and with
an eye toward making the school as visually pleasing as possible. We want students, parents,
faculty and staff to take pride in the appearance of their school.

Yearbook
Chair: Kim McCready (kuykendall6@cox.net)
CES has contracted with Irvin Simon Photography to put together a yearbook filled with photos of each
individual child with their class and also all the various activities throughout the school year. The
success of the yearbook depends entirely on volunteers to not only take photos but also to design and put
together pages. As we did last year, all yearbook pages will be created digitally using Adobe Photoshop
software. Anyone willing to help will be instructed on how to use this software. It's fun and easy
and produces beautiful, professional looking results. But mostly, we always need photos of school
events! Photos can be dropped off at the main office anytime during the school year or sent via email
to kuykendall6@cox.net. So get those cameras rolling and remember to send us copies of your pictures.
